How to reach LIP

Arriving on foot

If you're staying in one of the suggested hotels, you easily get to LIP on foot, it's 600 m (~10 min) from the CIDADE UNIVERSITARIA subway ("Metro", yellow line - linha amarela) station.

Exit towards: Estádio Universitário de Lisboa/Hospital de Santa Maria. You are now on Avenida Professor Gama Pinto. Cross at the major traffic light to stay on Avenida Professor Gama Pinto, but opposite side of the street. Walk for about 500 m. Leave R. Branca Edmée Marques on your left. Keep walking for other 100 m, LIP is on your left. See map.

When you enter through the main door, the Auditorium is on your right.

Arriving by plane

From the airport take the subway/Metro (Red line - Linha Vermelha) and change at SALDANHA for the Yellow line (Linha Amarela) direction ODIVELAS (or CAMPO GRANDE) and get off at CIDADE UNIVERSITARIA station (~25min). Then follow the instruction on arriving on foot.
Taxi is also a good option (takes 15-20 minutes).

General recommendations

Lisbon is a very popular tourist destination. Although it is a very safe city, you must be aware of pickpockets, particularly if you plan to take the famous Tram 28. As a general rule, always keep an eye on your belongings and carry your backpack/wallet/computer bag in front of you.
