About IBERGRID

IBERGRID was created under the agreement of Scientific and Technological cooperation signed by Spain and Portugal in 2003, and the collaboration agreements signed in 2005 in terms of Grid Technologies and Communication Networks for R & D. The main goal of IBERGRID is to reinforce the collaboration between both countries to support the joint participation in international initiatives and infrastructures of distributed computing and digital repositories among which the European Grid Infrastructure and the European Open Science Cloud. More information and background is available at https://www.ibergrid.eu.

IBERGRID supports the development and integration of thematic services of interest to the scientific community to be made available through our common infrastructure, based on distributed computing Grid and Clouds technologies. Among its key missions is supporting the participation in common scientific projects of strategic interest for Spain and Portugal such as the participation at CERN, support to WLCG, and in infrastructures from the ESFRI Roadmap.

The IBERGRID collaboration includes a series of meetings and conferences opened within the framework of the collaboration and abroad, which are held annually in an alternative manner in each of the two countries.
