Iberian EOSC Workshop

Spain and Portugal have strong links in Research Infrastructures, especially in the e-Infrastructures. The setup of the IBERGRID initiative and the strong links on research networks have strengthened the collaboration among Spanish and Portuguese research institutions. This joint session on EOSC tries to build bridges between the Spanish and Portuguese research centres focused on the Open Science commons. They will also serve to reinforce national collaboration.

The workshop aims to showcase success stories and best practices, raise awareness of the EOSC concept, share training opportunities, identify collaborations, and reinforce the Spanish and Portuguese EOSC ecosystem, mainly focusing on future opportunities in the frame of the HEU.

The workshop is open to researchers, e-infrastructure providers, Research Infrastructures centres and policy stakeholders in the frame of the EOSC. It will bring together members of the EOSC Association and the EOSC Steering Board, Open Science Policy groups, researchers from EOSC projects from the INFRAEOSC H2020 and Destination 2 HEU, and other stakeholders in the area.

Presentations will cover the following topics:

  • Institutional presentation from authorities setting up the scene.

  • The EOSC Tripartite, with a report from the EOSC-Steering Board and the EOSC-AISBL.

  • Carrusel presentation of the EOSC-A Iberian members and observers.

  • Selected talks from the EOSC-A task forces.

  • Lighting talks from EOSC projects.

  • Invited talk from relevant international initiatives.

  • A collaborative session through electronic means.

The workshop will be a full day comprising three blocks :

  • Setting up the EOSC Scene, focused on how EOSC is structured and governed, with interventions from the European Commission Unit for Open Science, the EOSC Steering Board and the EOSC AISBL.

  • The EOSC Community, to introduce the most significant actors in the EOSC landscape, from the EOSC association (including the Task Forces) and scientific cluster projects.

  • Implementing the EOSC, dedicated to projects and initiatives dedicated to the implementation of EOSC.

The workshop will serve to know the main actors in the area of EOSC in Spain and Portugal and to create links with Open Science initiatives. To attend the workshop please use the IBERGRID conference registration. Registration is free of charge.
