DESCRIPTION:The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) will combine t
he world’s most intense neutrino beam\, a deep underground site\, and ma
ssive liquid argon detectors to enable a broad science program addressing
some of the most fundamental questions in particle physics. A primary phys
ics goal is the  search for CP violation in neutrino oscillations\, which
may give insight into the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry\, o
ne of the fundamental questions in particle physics and cosmology. DUNE wi
ll use a neutrino beam originating at Fermilab\, and will consist of a far
detector located 1.5 km underground at the Sanford Underground Research F
acility in South Dakota\, 1300 km from Fermilab\, and a near detector loca
ted at Fermilab. In this seminar\, I will describe the current status of t
he DUNE experiment\, and the rapid progress in building large prototype de
 tectors at CERN.\n\nhttps://indico.lip.pt/event/457/
