Description

A simple solution to the origin of cosmological magnetic fields is proposed based on an eternal cyclical universe. It will be shown that strong enough magnetic fields, easily capable to account for present day bounds, can be created during the contraction phase of the universe. This proposed mechanism does not assume any specific modified gravity theory to enable the cosmological bounce. Moreover, no additions such as scalar fields and non-minimal coupling between gravitation and electrodynamics are introduced. The basic assumption of the model is that the universe is in a nearly-empty state, characterized by small electrical fields, at the beginning of the contraction phase.
