DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Paulo Brás (LIP)\n\nLUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment sear
ches for dark matter using a 7-tonne dual-phase xenon detector\, operating
1.5km deep underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility\, in
South Dakota\, USA. LZ continues to lead the direct searches for WIMP dark
matter above 5 GeV/c2 and has recently observed the most significant evid
ence of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) from 8B solar
neutrinos. Recently\, LZ published a dark matter search with 2.84 tonne-y
ears exposure in an extended nuclear recoil window up to 270 keV to probe
effective field theory and inelastic models of dark matter\, in a region w
here the known background expectation is well under one event [1]. This ta
lk will present the current status of the rare event searches with LZ\, an
d highlight the latest dark matter search results.\n[1] https://doi.org/10
