LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment searches for dark matter using a 7-tonne dual-phase xenon detector, operating 1.5km deep underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility, in South Dakota, USA. LZ continues to lead the direct searches for WIMP dark matter above 5 GeV/c2 and has recently observed the most significant evidence of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) from 8B solar neutrinos. Recently, LZ published a dark matter search with 2.84 tonne-years exposure in an extended nuclear recoil window up to 270 keV to probe effective field theory and inelastic models of dark matter, in a region where the known background expectation is well under one event [1]. This talk will present the current status of the rare event searches with LZ, and highlight the latest dark matter search results.
