On September 14, 2015 at 09:50:45 UTC, the two LIGO interferometers detected a GW signal from a merging pair of BHs. This historical discovery marks the dawn of the era of GW astronomy, opening a new window onto the hitherto invisible landscape of the Gravitational Universe.
